Pencak Silat is a genuine martial art from the Nusantara archipelago (former Majapahit territory). Unfortunately, in the country itself the existence of pencak silat is almost dimmed. People prefer foreign martial arts which are said to be cooler and slime. Even though Pencak Silat is a martial arts that is suitable to be applied in Indonesia. it's just that most people don't know the hidden side of this Pencak Silat. They tend to judge from the outside, then say Pencak Silat is just a tacky martial arts because it can only do riot. Their opinions are not right. These are some of the hidden sides of Pencak Silat that are rarely known to people.

1. Pencak Silat is more than just martial arts
Pencak silat is not just teaching to be able to protect themselves or attack, but by learning the science of martial arts we can obtain various knowledge that we can apply in everyday life.
In pencak silat it is taught about the values ​​of religion, art, sports, and even in large aspects in the form of state defense values. So that it can be said that pencak silat is not just a martial art.

2. Pencak Silat helps someone to find his identity
Pencak Silat comes from the word "Pencak" on the island of Java and "Silat" on the island of Sumatra which both have martial meanings. But Pencak silat is taught to descend from ancestors not only to be able to defend themselves.
In the old days, parents told their children to learn pencak silat so that they could later become men who were commendable in all aspects of their lives. So as to avoid things that are not commendable such as corruption, stealing, and so forth in the future.

3. Martial arts who have character and faith
There are a number of things that cannot be found in other martial arts but can be found in Pencak Silat, namely the values ​​of faith and morality. Pencak silat teaches about the values ​​of faith, namely divine values ​​that believe in the existence of God as the creator of nature.
In pencak silat, moral values ​​are also taught, namely values ​​that contain manners in socializing with other individuals in society. So that the aphorism "Martial Arts which is not based on religion will only produce a killing machine."

Those are the three hidden sides of pencak silat that are unknown to many people. If everyone were aware of the importance of martial arts knowledge, then all would work beautifully and pencak silat would still live in this country because the values ​​contained in pencak silat very suitable with life in Indonesia.
