Music is very important component in human life. It can persuade the state of human psychology such as encouraging, inspiring, making fun, or even making sad or depressed. So the influence of music on human emotions is enormous. However, the quality of music today is not as same as with the old music.Today’s music does not have big influence to listeners due to its bad quality.
The first reason, the old music players always prioritized skills and talents. Most of them have attended music course to increase their musical abilities even though they already have natural talent. therefore, the music they produce is really good. Different from today's musicians who only focus on external appearance. Musicians like this cause music standards to decline.
The second reason, old music was made based the creator’s heart, the composition was really taken care, and the musical notation was conceptualized carefully. This is what causes music can affect the emotion of the listener because it is made from the heart, it will reach the heart. Different from today's music whose notation seems random and the tone is very monotonous. Most of today’s music is made not on the base of art but to reap big profits without regard to music standards.
The third reason, the lyrics in old music contained deep meaning both express and implied. Besides, the lyrics are packaged poetically and as beautiful as possible so that they can attract listeners. Different from today's music whose lyrics do not have deep meaning and clear aesthetics, that it cannot motivate listeners.
Music has an important role in human life. It affects the human condition. It always develops according to the times. Although the quality of music also decreased, this causes the influence of music on listeners' emotions to decreased. Let's improve our music quality by learning and deepening it.
